To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
Published in 1960, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee tells the story of a trial of a black man, Tom Robinson, through the eyes of a young white girl, Scout. The two stories (Scout, Jem, Dill, and the mysterious Boo Radley, and the trial of Tom Robinson with Atticus Finch as lawyer) reveal that you can never know someone else - just as Dill scolds Jem for lighting a match under a turtle, asking him when he ever was a turtle to know how a turtle feels.
